George and the Painting

Personal work.

This little project was born in a course on how to make children’s books covers. It was so much fun! I made up a cute story about George, a piglet who loves painting and wants to find a nice birthday gift for his dad, a gardener. I targeted it to 5-8-year-old readers.

Because I liked the idea so much, I got excited, and after finishing the cover I did a few interior illustrations in bichrome. They’re quite common in this kind of books. It was really interesting to explore different angles with full and spot illustrations, depending on the scene.
